• Contemporary

  2017 - Current

  Contemporary is a visual style I've been designing starting in 2017. Currently, it features a set of icons, a font and a widget style. Essentially all my designs are built around Contemporary, including this page and my main website.

• theShell

  2016 - Current

  theShell is a desktop environment that I've written and continuously been working on for the past few years. It is built on the Qt GUI libraries and written in C++.

Things I like

• Coding

  Coding is what I do in most of my spare time.

• Open source

  Most of my software is open source, licensed under the GNU GPL. I believe that Open Source software is a crucial part of the current software ecosystem.

• UI design

  A good UI makes an app a lot more user friendly. I believe that the content of the app should be the center of attention, and any supplementary functions should be hidden away.

• Retro technology

  I enjoy reading up on and watching videos about older computers. Unfortunately, I don't own any such computer.

Technologies I've used

• C++

  Intermediate

  I do most of my Linux desktop programming in C++ with the Qt toolkit. I've been working on C++ since 2015.

• JavaScript

  Intermediate

  When I need to code something that isn't quite a fully featured desktop app, or when I need to put something together quickly, JavaScript is my go-to language.

• Bash

  Beginner

  I have been using Linux as a main OS since about 2015, and in that time, I have grown accustomed to the bash shell. I can do basic shell scripting, but have good knowledge of the inner workings of Linux.

• PostgreSQL

  Beginner

  When I need to keep records in a relational database, PostgreSQL is my database management system of choice.

• Visual Basic

  Intermediate

  Nowadays I rarely use Visual Basic to create anything, but it was my main language in between 2012 and 2016.
